What instigates the need for private tutoring?  Everyone’s is different and each child is different, some friends of mine use a private tutor to help their children through their eleven plus exams to ensure their place in the local Grammar school and others, like myself, will be looking to use one in the summer holidays to keep my daughter up to scratch with her peers. As she has an August birthday she is the youngest in the class. The school she attends has very high academic standards and is high on the league tables so her competition is strong. I feel that extra help she receives from her tutor not only helps her academically but boosts her confidence.
