Non Binding Advice
If I were to give someone advice would I be bound to have to back it up if they went to me for legal counsel. Sorry, this question may seem a little awkward but I am a lawyer and I would like to know if there is some precedent behind this. I have a friend that asked me for some legal advice and I gave it to her off the record. Now, she is citing me although I was never retained. Can I just cite that it was Citizen Advice because there was never a contract or money exchanged for my services?
