How to traina puppy not to jump up

Jumping up to people

It is such a nice sight: a sweet puppy with dark eyes like beads and a shiny black nose, who joyfully jumps up at your visitors. Remember, however, that, if you do not soon stop it from doing this, it will continue to do so, when it is an adolescent dog (and therefore not so sweet), has muddy feet, or when you are just about to go to a party.

To learn how to train a puppy, just remember that a dog cannot tell the difference between your special clothes and jeans; neither can it read your thoughts. Yesterday you liked this and even played with it for a short while, but today you are annoyed with your dog for jumping up and punish it for this. What is the dog to make of this?

Therefore, be consistent from day one. You either allow it or you do not allow it. You can teach your dog not to do this by ensuring that it associates this with something negative.
