Classic Contemporary Furniture Styles
If you’re a fan of contemporary furniture you’re most likely familiar with the iconic pieces. Examples of them are the Eileen Gray side table, Isamu Noguchi’s Tribeca coffee table, Marcel Breuer’s table and chairs, Josef Hoffman’s Blog chair and sofas, and Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona chair. The Barcelona chair is also known as Exposition furniture. It was designed by Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich and used in the German pavilion during the 1929 Worlds Fair which was held in Barcelona. This classic example of contemporary furniture has stood the test of time and remains one of the most popular modern chair styles.
