My mother realized that epilepsy did not have to be so scary. The seizure management process is actually pretty easy and makes healthy choices for the family that can be carried on through her children. She was also happy that she started that support group to help others with the problems and perhaps get some good advice for herself. She realized that being knowledgeable about her daughter’s disease only made her let her daughter feel safe in life while living with a potentially fatal disease. The ways to deal with diseases where much easier to deal and live with today than they where when she was a child.
