dangers of Human Growth Hormone

When we think of the dangers of Human Growth Hormone, or HGH as it is commonly referred to, we can’t really think of any.  However, we are sorely mistaken.  Three of the major dangers in taking HGH is that: 1) There has been little to no research done on the drug, 2) abuse may lead to possible heart, bone, nerve diseases as well as other problems and 3) over the counter (OTC) pills would be ineffective.  Human Growth Hormone is a drug that is typically given to children who have, you guessed it, growth problems.  It is also a drug that is sometimes given to cancer patients or people who are suffering the effects of the AIDS virus so as to help strengthen their bones.  However, in America, we have recently seen the abuse of this drug by numerous athletes, the latest one being Marion Jones (a premier track and field athlete)- and why?  Because these athletes believe that HGH will give them the extra edge they  need in competition to overcome their competitors.  This is a false notion, though.
